The refrigerated box is often cooled by cooling motors mounted on top of the truck at the front. There is an evaporator in the cooling box from where the cold air comes out. Well-known cooling motors are, for example, made by Thermoking and Carrier. With a Multi-temp cooling box, you can create two different temperature zones. This allows you to separate products that have different storage temperatures. With a fridge / freezer you can also freeze instead of just cooling.

For heavier refrigerated trucks you need a different driving license than the lighter variants. See here an explanation of all the options within this category.
With a C1 driving license you can drive refrigerated trucks with a weight between 3.5t and 7.5t. If these refrigerated trucks are driven professionally, you are obliged to apply for code 95. Refrigerated trucks in this category are also referred to as medium-duty trucks.
For refrigerated trucks between 3.5t and 50t in weight, you need a driving license C. This does not only apply to a refrigerated truck, but to all vehicles with this weight. The refrigerated trucks in this category are also referred to as small trucks.
Refrigerated trucks with a weight of less than 3.5 t no longer fall under the truck category. These lightweight refrigerated trucks fall under the category commercial vehicles.
