New and used Low Loader for Sale

Looking for a low loader or semi low loader? Then look no further. The BAS World stock is varied and consists of new and used low loaders. Low loaders are mainly used to transport heavy materials and machines. These are lower to the ground and can handle more weight per axle because they often have steered axles. This also applies to a semi low-loader, but here the bed is not as low as that of a low loader. Well-known brands that produce low loaders include Nooteboom, Faymonville, Goldhofer and Broshuis. All low loaders for sale here have been thoroughly inspected in advance by our experts.

Low loader trailer for Sale

Popular (semi) low loaders that you will find here, among others, are of the following brands:

What is a low loader?

A low loader is an open trailer with the bed as low as possible to the ground. They are designed to transport heavy and high materials such as excavators, cranes, and bulldozers. While the standard axle load is 8,000 kg, a low loader with special swing axles can carry up to 12,000 kg per axle. Pendle axles can move independently of each other, so that the weight is evenly distributed over the entire trailer. This makes working with swing axles and heavy loads a lot safer.

What is a semi low loader?

With a low loader, the bed (or the floor) is completely lowered to the ground. This is slightly different with a semi low loader. The loading floor has been partially lowered there. Because these trailers can transport heavy materials, the GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight) for low loaders and semi low loaders is essential. Important options that you often see with a semi low loader are ramps and steered axles. This allows you to manoeuvre better and easier load and unload the transport.

Options for a low loader

There are a huge number of possibilities to strengthen or extend your low loader or to make it easier to transport machines. Make sure you pay attention to this if you want to buy a used low loader. We explain the most common options below:

  • Wheel arches: these ensure that heavy materials remain in place. The wheels of machines, for example, are caught in it.

  • Interdolly: increases the load capacity and provides optimum weight distribution. An interdolly is placed at the front between the gooseneck and the loading floor.

  • Ramps: (extendable) ramps make it easier to get materials onto the trailers. This is especially true for machines and vehicles that have wheels.

  • Pendle axles: axles that move independently of each other to better distribute the weight. In addition to the functionality, this is also safer if you work with heavy materials.

  • Detachable gooseneck: with a detachable gooseneck it is easier to load and unload goods from your low loader.
