From January 1, 2025, there will be rules around emissions for closed van sales in the Netherlands. The current vehicle tax exemption for businesses when purchasing fuel-powered commercial (closed) vans will be eliminated by January 2025. That means every business owner will start paying vehicle tax when purchasing a new van. Instead, tax exemption will apply only to electric commercial vans and vehicles. Diesel commercial (closed) vans with Euro 5 will still be allowed to enter zero-emission zones until January 1, 2027, and Euro 6 will be permitted until January 1, 2028.
