In addition to Volvo and CAT, Moxy, Doosan, Deere, Terex and Bell also manufacture articulated dumpers. Articulated haulers can be equipped with several tools that make the work easier or more efficient. A few examples are wide tires, a tail gate or central lubrication. Articulated haulers can also be equipped with bucket heating or an overpressure cabin. Bucket heating allows the (hot) exhaust gasses to flow from the engine through the walls of the bucket. This way, the load can be unloaded more easily. This is especially useful in cold climates.
Articulated dumpers can transport a lot of sand and rock thanks to their large bucket. Because the vehicle is equipped with normal tires instead of tracks, it can transport material relatively quickly compared to other heavy equipment. Thanks to the robust loading platform, heavy raw materials such as large stones can also be transported. This would not be possible with a regular tipper trailer. Articulated haulers are mainly used in mining, earthworks, infrastructure and hydraulic engineering.
There are many different brands and types of articulated haulers. The most important factor that distinguishes these dumpers is their load capacity, expressed in tons. Load capacities start at about 23 tons and range upwards towards 55 tons. This is the load capacity of the Volvo A60H. It was introduced by Volvo at Bauma in 2019.
The price of a used articulated dumper strongly depends on the technical condition and load capacity. A dump truck with a high load capacity is worth more than a smaller type. At BAS World you can buy a used articulated dumper starting at €55,000. The price of a new unit is much higher. Depending on the type and options, new machines cost €300,000 on average. BAS always has a varied stock of articulated haulers of various brands, age and types.
It is possible to lease a new or used articulated hauler at BAS World. The lease period can vary from 24 to 60 months. Servicing can also be included. Ask one of our sales representatives about the possibilities.
